Time

Time. We live in a world where everything is about time. Time to do all the things we need to do, read books, run errands, meet friends, go to work, go to sleep. Wake up, eat, drink, laugh, cry, live. It’s all on a schedule. Everything is centered around it. Time flies and suddenly you realize that life isn’t about what’s going to happen. It’s happening. Can’t fit something into your schedule? Then whoops, there it goes, the thing, the thought, the whatever that was supposed to take place or a form — gone. Lost. There is a Chinese proverb that goes something like this, “time doesn’t go by, time is coming”. We should all just take a time out and just exist. Wouldn’t that be nice? To take a leap off this materialistic world where it shouldn’t be about what you have or who you know, but what you can do and who you are. Yes, this is a digression of the topic that was supposed to be about time, but whoops… I let my thoughts wander and wait a second.. was that on the schedule? Do I need to set my alarm clock to remind me that we can use our imagination? To think that there is an alternate universe out there where the laws of physics simply don’t matter? A place where we float like particles – a place where  labels and logos and identities cease to exist. Scientists argue whether or not there is a black hole somewhere that contains “nothingness” – a canal between past and present. And if you have the time (no pun intended) so ponder all the different ways to view Einstein’s theory of relativity, well, you will definitely end up more confused than anything. We all know that light travels faster than sound, and that if somebody travels in outer space will find that time is slower than the one on Earth. That’s a comforting thought. Or is it?

Sometimes I wish I could grow wings and fly away
